There are both Bank Surveillance and Corporate Montoring tools that can be accessed through this cart. The IRA Bank Reports tool is is primarily designed for consumers with large deposits above the FDIC insured limit or
other relationships who want to monitor the safety and soundness of specific banks. The IRA Corporate tool is designed to facilitate analysis of publicly traded companies both as operating businesses and obligors.
1. What kind of content can I see without registering?
If you don't register you can only see a very limited amount of information. Sample pages will be sparse and data will be significantly aged. Registration is FREE and there is no obligation to purchase any IRA report.
2. Can I see a sample version of a bank report before buying it?
Yes. Registered users are able to search for banks and see one year old sample reports prior to making your decision to purchase an IRA ratings report. The sample reports contain a small fraction of the full report. Also be aware that banks can and do change their stress levels.
3. Are there any FREE current reports on the site?
As of 22-June-2009 there aren't any. IRA has just launched a feature enabling banks wishing to communicate confidence messaging to their depositors, obligors and investors to make their reports available for FREE to registered users of the site. They can further contract with IRA to include informational materials on their pages. A bank can explain but not change the ratings calculated by our systems.
4. I'm a professional who needs to search for sound banks. I may also have business needs to search for stressed banks. Is there an upgrade I can buy to do this?
Yes. While IRABankRatings.com was initially built for individual consumers, since launching the service many financial advisers, corporate treasurers, law firms and others who need a light professional tool to search for banks have subscribed to the site. There is a $500/yr optional upgrade capability you can purchase that will enable you to search for banks by both upside and downside performance characteristics.
